BACKGROUND

As a Product Development Director/Senior Fashion Designer, with over 19 years of apparel industry experiences. I possess an in-depth knowledge of trend research, designs, product development, fitting, strong understanding of garment construction, washes, tie dye, and pre-production/production. I have experience in domestic and overseas sourcing of fabrics, trims, factory and garments, including production price negotiations.


I participated in seasonal brand concept meetings, buyer relations. I coordinated and ensured products meets customer's overall creative direction. Researched, interpreted and developed seasonal trends and approved counter samples.

Travel overseas, shop retail markets to identify emerging trends in colors, fashion styles, fabrications and trims.


ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

My accomplishments include launching and running Yemee Clothing Company successfully for 12 years by offering Trending, Relevant and Cost-effective Products.

Secured orders from major department stores such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, Anthropologie, Bloomingdales and better boutiques such as Fred Segal, Mfredric, Hot mama aka Evereve with almost 100 stores. YC also sold to stores in Asia and Canada.

My overstock was a constant and favorite on online Flash Sales sites such as Hautelook, Zulily, Gilt Group and Ideeli in the U.S., Enviius and MarkVIP overseas.


My works had been featured in U.S Magazines such as Glamour, Self, WWD, Essence, Honey, The Apparel News, Body Magazine, also in Japanese Magazines such as ViVi, EGG, Fine, SCawaii! and Popteen


I was featured on Los Angeles Fox New Network, as "Brilliant, Creative and one to watch".

Nordstrom featured my work in their catalog, ran advertisements in the News Paper featuring my products and announcing my appearance for meet and greet at the Flagship Stores in Southern California.


I created and launched a brand label, Indigo-Soul in Los Angeles for a Missy Contemporary Mid-West Clothing Co, Fabritech/Fashion Trend International Inc. 

Indigo Soul is sold at all 630 Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, Blair, Catalogs and variety of Mid-West Farm Stores. I created Private Label products for the Ultra Missy subsidiary division-Morning Sun, that sells at Macy's and other mid-west and Southern department stores and catalogs.

Stillettos

Work with creative director to develop product for our line collection. Designed, shop stores, source, create fast track fashion & occasionally create tech packs.

Sales, established relationships with specialty & multi-door specialty accounts. Participated in major trade shows and markets as well as service accounts through travel & road work. Develop strategies to obtain new orders & re-order business from buyers by reading and analyzing weekly sales report.

I offer freelance design. In-house design gigs. Tech Packs. Manual pattern making. Fittings. Fashion sketching with adobe illustrator and freehand sketching. Communicate feedbacks with overseas and domestic factories. Set up sample rooms for start-up companies. Provide Consultations.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR | HEAD DESIGNER

Fashion Trend International inc. aka Fabritech

Led the design team in collection creation for the Indigo-soul Label. I created products & sold to stores such as Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Macys, Meijer, Belk and Mid West farm stores. Created trend strategies which supported customers’ objective. Responsible for setting the brand’s seasonal fashion direction. Approved selection of materials, styles, trends and colors for the season. Worked with wholesale buyers to acquire orders & reorders. Partnered with WGSN and our company co-founder to share information with associates on emerging trends to ensure synergy and consistency within the products and brands. Travel nationwide and overseas to shop retail and fabric markets, to identify emerging inspirations and trends. Approved fittings, PP sample & TOP of production samples. Participate in seasonal brand concept meetings. Provided marketing department with product information needed to market brand label. Collaborated with marketing department in developing branding, packaging, labels and hang tags. Partnered with HR on recruiting & talent acquisition for my department.

Yemee Clothing Company 

Co-founder. Took company from $0 to $4.5 million. Managed and led the design team in development and execution of product designs. Gave creative directions on emerging trends to ensure synergy and consistency within the product brand. Traveled to Europe & Asia to shop retail markets and identify emerging trends. Coordinated and ensured design and merchandise met customer's overall direction. Worked closely with buyers to develop exclusive products for their stores such as Lulu, Fred Siegel, Nordstroms, Saks, Bloomingdales, Anthropologie and other department stores.

Rampage Clothing Company

Designed Sportswear and Dresses for young contemporary division. 

Worked with fabric and trim vendors

Researched trends to establish directions, 

Sketched, worked with pattern and sample makers to ensure the proper fit and construction.

To maintain design and fit integrity, I worked closely with technical designers and manufacturers.  Occasionally created tech packs.

Bisou Bisou

Stepped up to Head the Design Department when Michelle Bohbot (Founder/Creative Director) went on bed rest.

I designed, sketched, sourced fabrics. Collaborated with pattern and sample makers, for garment fitting, and trouble shooting with pre-production.

Presented collection to sales reps & some buyers.

Worked with sourcing team and factories to develop exclusive fabrics, trim and garment treatments for the collections.
